Led by Retail BID, City Safe works in partnership with West Midlands Police, British Transport Police, Birmingham City Council and other bodies across the city to actively reduce crime.
Led by Retail Birmingham, the Business Improvement District for the city centre retail area, City Safe has been brought about in response to Retail BID members who were becoming increasingly concerned about business crime and the impact of anti-social behaviour on the safety of staff and visitors.
Working in partnership with West Midlands Police, British Transport Police, Birmingham City Council and other bodies across the city to actively reduce crime, City Safe unites local businesses with a shared goal to prevent and reduce criminality and anti-social behaviour.
The City Safe steering group is made up of senior managers from Retail BID, Businesses within the city British Transport Police and West Midlands Police.
The City Safe Birmingham Steering Group:-
-Guides the strategic and operational direction of City Safe Birmingham
-Makes decisions on the priorities for Birmingham city businesses in relation to business crime.
– Analyses intelligence received and shares as appropriate with partners and members.
-Meets as required with representation from specialist Loss Prevention Managers, Store General Managers, West Midlands Police, Retail BID and the City Safe Team, with Group members committing to regular attendance.
